As the number of patients has been constantly increasing, the overtime of workers in medical care fields is increasing; medical care organizations are unable to operate because of the decreasing population, causing disparities in medical care quality; and events such as medical malpractice including incorrect medical diagnoses that degrade the QOL (quality of life) of patients are possible.
One way to solve these problems in relation to medical care is to make use of digital technology. By introducing digital health products that use state-of-the-art technology such as AI, improvements in productivity are realized in the field of medical care, which is susceptible to labor shortages, and thus makes the work load lighter.
For example, it is now possible to use AI for image diagnosis to detect lesions that may be easily overlooked in visual checks in MRI examinations. As a result, it becomes possible to save labor in diagnosis, for example, by omitting cell detection examinations, which used to be needed alongside MRI examinations. This creates much more time to examine a larger number of patients, and will also lead to the prevention of medical malpractice as well as mitigation of the burden on patients.

With the mission of delivering state-of-the-art technology to medical care fields in Japan, we provide comprehensive solutions ranging from support for imports and exports of medical devices using technology like AI to discovering new technologies, obtaining medical device certifications, and marketing for the sales and distribution of devices.
As Japan faces an aging society with a declining birthrate, we are being confronted by many challenges related to medical care. While the number of patients has been increasing, there is a shortage of workers in medical care fields, and the cost of medical care and insurance premiums are rising steadily. It is apparent that we are in an era in which medical fields need to be more productive than ever before.
To show the way toward solving these problems, our company's human resources with expertise in the fields of medical devices, pharmaceutical affairs, AI, and so on will make use of Marubeni's global network to discover state-of-the-art technologies and products from around the world, and thus support medical care fields.
Although our company was founded a short time ago, we have already commercialized VIDA Insights image analysis software developed by VIDA in the US to support the interpretation of chest CT images, and we are steadily submitting pharmaceutical applications for digital health products from various manufacturers.
